How to import your bookmarks into Notabe
Switching apps shouldn't mean starting over. Notabe imports standard HTML and OPML bookmark files, so the collection you already built comes with you.
1. Export from your old app
Most browsers and bookmark managers can export your saves as an HTML file — look for Export bookmarks in the bookmarks manager. Some apps export OPML, which Notabe also reads. Save the file somewhere you can find it.
2. Import into Notabe
In Notabe, choose import and pick your HTML or OPML file. Notabe brings the links in and auto-tags each one as it arrives, so you land in an organized library rather than a flat dump.
A note on CSV exports
Some apps — including the old Pocket export — produce CSV rather than HTML. Convert the CSV to an HTML bookmark file first, then import it the same way. See our guide on what happened when Pocket shut down.
Frequently asked
What file formats can Notabe import?
Notabe imports standard HTML bookmark files and OPML — the two formats most browsers and bookmark apps can export. Once imported, every link is auto-tagged so your library is organized from day one.
Can I import from my browser?
Yes. Most browsers export bookmarks as an HTML file (often under Bookmarks → Manage → Export). Save that file, then import it into Notabe.
What about apps that export CSV, like Pocket?
Notabe imports HTML and OPML, so a CSV export (such as an old Pocket export) usually needs a quick conversion to HTML first. After that, it imports like any other bookmark file.
