Apple's instructions

Frequently asked

What is Notabe, exactly?

A native bookmark manager for Mac and iPhone. You save links from any browser. Notabe quietly tags each save, writes a three-sentence summary, and lets you search the library by meaning instead of title. Pocket-replacement scope, but native to Apple and AI-organized.

Is my data private?

Yes. When you save a page, Notabe fetches it once, generates a summary and a vector embedding, then deletes the cached page text after 24 hours. Summaries and embeddings persist as part of your bookmark. AI processing happens at Google (Gemini) and Anthropic (Claude) under their commercial API terms — they don't keep your inputs, and we don't opt into training. You can disable AI processing entirely in Settings → Privacy.

Can I sync between Mac and iPhone?

Yes, via iCloud. Same Apple ID, automatic. Sync runs through Apple's CloudKit — we don't run a separate sync server.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. You keep Plus or Pro access until the end of the billing period, then drop to Free (you keep all your bookmarks, but new saves stop after the 100-bookmark cap).

Can I import from Pocket?

Yes. Mac app → File → Import → From Pocket export. Bring in the HTML or CSV file Mozilla provided when Pocket shut down in October 2025. URLs, titles, tags, and save dates come over. AI summaries and embeddings get generated in the background after import.

Can I import from Raindrop or Anybox?

Yes — both. Same menu (File → Import). Raindrop's CSV export and Anybox's .anybox-export file are both supported. URLs, titles, tags, save dates.

Is the iPhone app a full editor?

Yes. Mac and iPhone ship together at v1.0 with feature parity — add, edit, delete, organize. The iPhone app picks up new bookmarks via iCloud sync and the iOS Share Extension saves from any app on the system.

When does the Chrome extension ship?

Yes — the Chrome extension ships at launch alongside the Mac and iPhone apps. Manifest V3, Sign in with Apple, save with tag autocomplete and an already-saved card so you don't dupe.

What if Notabe tags something wrong?

Edit the tag in the inspector, or ignore it. Tags are suggestions; nothing is auto-applied without your acceptance.

Do you offer a lifetime plan?

No — Notabe is subscription-only. Pro Yearly at $59.99 includes everything unlimited. Otherwise: Plus at $2.99/month or $24.99/year lifts the bookmark cap with a 3-summary monthly taste. Pro at $9.99/month gets unlimited AI without throttling. If you'd rather not pay at all, the Free tier (100 bookmarks, auto-tagging on every save) is there forever.

Can I export my library?

Yes. Any bookmark, any collection, or your whole library exports as Markdown — a single file or a zip of files. Drop it into Obsidian, Bear, Drafts, or git. Your data is portable in the format you'd choose for it anyway.
