How to export bookmarks from Pocket

The honest version first: Pocket is gone, and its export window closed in October 2025. Here is what the export was, what to do if you saved yours in time, and where to land next.

What happened to Pocket

Mozilla shut Pocket down on July 8, 2025. Exports stayed open until October 8, 2025, and on November 12, 2025 the API was disabled and remaining user data was queued for permanent deletion. There is no way to export from Pocket today.

If you exported in time

The export was a CSV file with your list, archive, favorites, notes, and highlights. If you downloaded it before the deadline, you still have a copy of everything you saved — sitting in that one file.

Where to put your saves

Choose a new home based on your devices. On Apple, Notabe is a native Mac and iPhone library that imports standard HTML and OPML bookmark files; a Pocket CSV usually needs a quick conversion to HTML first. Once imported, every save is auto-tagged and searchable by meaning — so the pile you rescued from Pocket becomes something you can actually use.

Frequently asked

Can I still export from Pocket?

No. Pocket stopped working on July 8, 2025, the export page stayed open until October 8, 2025, and on November 12, 2025 the data was queued for permanent deletion. If you did not export before October 2025, the data is gone.

What format was the Pocket export?

A CSV file containing your list, archive, favorites, notes, and highlights, downloaded from the Pocket Export page while it was open.

Where should I move my saved articles now?

Pick a manager that fits your devices. If you are on Apple, Notabe imports standard HTML and OPML bookmark files; a Pocket CSV may need a quick conversion to one of those formats first.
